It should come as no surprise that Nick Lachey, the less successful half of MTV’s Newlyweds, is seeking further money and property from his estranged wife, pop sensation Jessica Simpson. After years of using Jessica as a meal ticket, can’t Nick step away with some dignity? Take some advice, Nick: get some pride. And a job.

The former 98 Degrees singer is seeking spousal support and various bling from his wife of three years, Jessica Simpson, report news sources. They’ve been living separately since December.

Lachey, 32, and Simpson, 25, met when she was promoting her debut album while touring with Lachey’s boy band 98 Degrees. Although the two had their niche fans, they both shot to unforeseen fame after wedding in October 2002 when MTV released the hit reality show “Newlyweds.“

Simpson’s career quickly eclipsed Lachey’s thanks to her pricelessly air-headed comments on “Newlyweds,“ her golf swing-inhibiting assets and her Daisy Dukes-wearing figure in “The Dukes of Hazzard” movie. Their three-year relationship has been marked by frequent estrangement, public bickering and rumors of infidelity. The day before Thanksgiving 2005, they announced they were splitting.
