Last Tuesday, chef Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff came very close to being eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. But thanks to Misty May-Treanor’s nasty accident, the couple was given another chance to stay in the game.
Unfortunately, the remaining 9 pairs were not able to write off Week 3 completely. The scores from this Monday’s dances are going to be combined with last week’s numbers to determine Week 4’s elimination.
So after tonight’s Samba and Tango performances, were Rocco and Karina still likely to leave next? Read on!

On this week’s episode of America’s Next Top Model 11, the girls learned that modeling wasn’t just about showing up and looking pretty. It was about discovering who you were and not being afraid to let go. It was about knowing your best traits and embracing your warts.
Given Clark’s recent elimination, the remaining eight ladies realized they couldn’t afford to take their critiques for granted. Elina still had to overcome control issues, Lauren Brie had to deliver a personality and Analeigh needed to find her niche.

Last week, eleven couples were vying for Dancing with the Stars’ mirror ball trophy. Seven days later, we were down to only nine.
Although she had planned to take on the jive tonight, an injury forced Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor to suddenly leave the competition. You can see her explain the incident - and hear the injury happen - below.
So how did the remaining dancers fare in Week 3? You can find out after the jump.

Dancing with the Stars 7: Week 2 Loser
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars, Editorial, Features, Video

Last night on Dancing with the Stars: Season 7, the remaining 11 couples took on either the Rumba or the Paso Doble. While one would normally expect to see better numbers in Week 2, most of the performers inexperienced declines.
When the points were totaled, Warren Sapp - who scored a 24 for his Paso - was the only person to see an improvement on Monday. But given that Brooke had scored a 26 last week, her 24 (also for the Paso) didn’t look so bad.
Of the four performers sitting in the under-20 point range, two hit new lows last yesterday: Kim (17) and Cloris (15). Meanwhile, the other two - Rocco (16) and Maurice (19) - still didn’t have much to brag about.

Two down, eleven to go. Last week on the Dancing with the Stars: Season 7, the celebrities were tasked with two different dances over two different days. Those performances resulted in the eliminations of both comedian Jeffrey Ross and actor Ted McGinley by Wednesday.
This week, the amateurs took on either the sultry Rumba or the aggressive Paso Doble. Did the celebrities rise to the challenge? Read on!

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11: Fierce Eyes

Just when I thought I had seen everything on America’s Next Top Model, the producers decided to throw in a new twist. And surprisingly, it didn’t have anything to do with Tyra. This week, one girl was eliminated before reaching the show’s halfway mark. (No photo shoot, no judges panel…nada.) Make no mistakes—Season 11’s gonna be ruthless!
In this episode, the women were finally given the chance to show off their version of a runway walk. But since simple strutting down an actual runway would be too easy, Miss J had to spice things up a bit. This time around, the ladies were taken to a bowling alley where they were given special high-heeled bowling shoes. (Cue Hannah: “I didn’t even know they made stuff like that!”) Since models are often asked to walk on different types of surfaces, the challenge was to master the slick bowling lanes.

Dancing with the Stars 7: Week 1, Day 2
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars, Editorial, Features
Last night, Dancing with the Stars: Season 7 kicked off with a jam-packed premiere.
All 13 couples - including 2 injured dancers - attempted either a Cha Cha Cha or a Foxtrot. After Round 1, actress/model Brooke Burke was sitting in the lead with a score of 23 while comedian Jeffrey Ross was resting at the bottom with an embarrassing 12. (Even Adam Carolla managed to get a 15 at this point last year.)
Tonight, 12 of the pairs were given one more chance to win voters over before Wednesday’s second elimination. Who proved they were worth saving…and who asked to be sent home? Read on!

Dancing with the Stars 7: Week 1, Day 1
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars, Editorial, Features

Last night, Dancing with the Stars premiered with its largest - and most interesting - cast so far. In addition to having the series’ youngest and oldest competitors to date, the seventh installment also boasts two Olympians and several interesting rivalries. This year we have married competitors (Alec Mazo, Edyta Sliwinska), a father/son battle (Corky Ballas, Mark Ballas) and a brother/sister rivalry (Julianne Hough, Derek Hough).
For the show’s first night, all 13 couples each performed one dance. They will then follow that up with another routine on Tuesday. Come Wednesday, the program’s first two celebrities will be eliminated.
So how did the new hoofers stack up? Read on!

The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Cable, FX, HBO, Entourage, Editorial, Features

Even though the previous television season was marred by the annoying writers’ strike, I find myself really excited for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards. Not only will this ceremony give us a chance to start anew, it’ll be the academy’s chance to celebrate what’s new.
Tonight, two basic cable shows (Damages, Mad Men) will get a chance to win for Outstanding Drama Series. (That would be an Emmy first.) Meanwhile, nominees in several categories will have an opportunity to compete in a Sopranos-less environment. An added bonus? A new category. This year, reality show hosts will finally be acknowledged for their programming contributions as well.
So who won? Who lost? Who ran up and grabbed the award even though they didn’t win? Read our West Coast play-by-play account of this evening’s telecast and find out!
