Even though we’re accustomed to perusing the American Film Institute‘s lists of ranked movies, the organization also acknowledges excellence in television.
For their 2008 AFI Awards, a 13-member panel chose ten programs for their annual honors. Of the names selected, only Mad Men makes a return from the 2007 list. (Those not included in this round include Ugly Betty, 30 Rock, Dexter and Everybody Hates Chris.) Meanwhile, the only comedy represented this year is NBC’s The Office.

ABC’s upcoming midseason schedule will probably look like a giant gift to some…a lump of coal to others.
The good news? The Oceanic 6 will make their return and the Sacred Heart crew (a.k.a. Scrubs) will have their network debut. The bad news? Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money will both be given (temporary? permanent?) vacations.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
- Two and a Half Men: Now that everyone’s forgotten about his star-studded Bobby, director Emilio Estevez will soon be returning to his acting roots. In an upcoming episode of the CBS comedy, Emilio will play a drinking buddy of Charlie’s. (For those who don’t already know, Sheen is Estevez’s younger brother in real-life.) This cameo comes three years after their father, Martin Sheen, guested as Rose’s father.

Check Out the New Lost Promo
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Lost, Video
If Heroes’ flash forwards have you yearning for the mysteries of Lost, you’re in luck.
This intriguing promo for the 2009 season hints at the reunion we all suspect will come. It also leaves with several other questions: What drives the Oceanic 6 to finally go back? Why is Hurley wielding a gun? Where are Kate and Aaron planning to vacation? Why didn’t the remaining castaways drown when their island disappeared? Arrggh!
Will Lost Ever Make It to the Big Screen?

Even though we’ve been given an end date and been reassured of an overall plan—is it possible we’ll see life on Lost beyond 2010?
In a recent interview with MTV, executive producer J.J. Abrams admitted that while a theatrical version of the ABC show is unlikely, the possibility is there. Ironically, the program’s co-creator said the predetermined finale is the reason why there could be more story left to tell.
As things stand right now, fans are prepping to say goodbye to the passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 after two more seasons. Had the writers been forced to create episodes indefinitely, the tired storylines could have made a big screen jump pointless.

Here’s a quick look at the casting announcements made recently:
- The Simpsons: For the 20th season of The Simpsons, young Maggie will undergo an interesting transformation. Sixteen years ago, the binky-sucker uttered her first word with the help of screen legend Elizabeth Taylor.
